It's a big week for "CSI: Miami." The DVD of the show's second season hits store shelves, and the hit CBS drama's first episode of the new year airs Monday night.

Emily Procter plays detective Caleigh Duquesne a ballistics expert, but tells The Early Show co-anchor Hannah Storm she used a different kind of sleuthing recently to figure out who was tracking mud into her house.

"What's actually happened lately is that I've started investigating, and my stepdad, over Christmas, I said, 'Jerry, if you can, would you try not to track mud into the house?' He said, 'Oh, I didn't.' I said, 'Oh, but you did, because you're wearing a certain kind of tennis shoe and that's the print that's on the floor and there's your footprint out there in the mud.' And I was like, 'Oh, my God, I can't believe I'm taking this seriously."

Procter started in television as a weatherperson in Greenville, North Carolina, but says, "Everyone in the entertainment industry is gonna laugh when I say this. I was 19 when I started and, you know, life is very different when you're in school than when you're in the business world. And I felt like the news business was a little rough for me and a little sleazy. So I glided right over into acting."

"Hollywood's not sleazy all, right?" Storm kidded Procter.

"Not at all," Procter kidded right back. "And my big joke always is, I should have gone right into the music business."

And had the trifecta right there, Storm suggested.

"Exactly," Procter agreed.

Procter says she's become more accepting of herself. "I've found that I've settled into myself a little bit more in last year and started wearing things that I feel comfortable with and my own style and …I decided to just embrace the person that I am and the look I like, and what I think is pretty. But as a woman, it's no different for me when i go to get ready. I feel anxiety, and I think, 'Does it fit? And does it look okay? And how are people going to talk about me in it?"'

Prcoter confirmed that, "My house is very serious. It's a lot of antiques, and the way I decided to liven it up is, I paired it very vibrant colors and – (accessories involving) bugs. …I think that they're pretty. And I think that they're fascinating and they're natural."
